Lukas Podolski enhanced his Arsenal cult hero status when he squared up against his former teammate Robin van Persie during Galatasaray’s win over Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup final.

The Lion’s recorded a 1-0 victory over their bitter rivals Fenerbahce. Podolski scored the games only goal midway though the first half he headed home Jason Denayer’s flick-on.

However, a moment which caught Arsenal fan’s attention was when Podolski confronted Van Persie.

Loyal Arsenal fans love Lukas Podolski just as much as they hate Robin van Persie and took to social media to express their view on the incident.

Galatasaray’s victory means the Lion’s will serve their one-year ban from European football – imposed by UEFA for not complying with Financial Fair Play rules – next season.

The Istanbul Giants will be eligible to play in Europe once again in the 2017-18 campaign.

Galatasaray are unbeaten against Fenerbahce in their five cup finals.
