Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany sends message to new transfer

Monaco v Man City

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has sent a message to his new teammate Ilkay Gundogan.

The Belgium international spoke to the media about City’s latest signing Gundogan.

“I have spoken to Vincent and he seems a very nice guy. He’s the captain and he told me to call if I need something. He gave me his direct number,” Kompany was quoted as saying by the Express.

BBC meanwhile report that the City paid approximately £20 million for the Gundogan last month.

The midfield playmaker initially joined Dortmund from Nuremberg in 2011 under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp and helped the Bundesliga giants reach the 2013 Champions League final.

Gundogan has been ruled out of Euro 2016 and the beginning of next season after dislocating his knee during training earlier this month. Bild report that it will take Gundogan four to six months for him to make a full recovery.
