Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has wished Germany international teammate Antonio Rudiger a quick recovery after he picked up a knee injury in training.
The Germany international defender will miss Euro 2016 due to tearing his cruciate knee ligaments.
Ozil shared a picture alongside his teammate during a training session for Germany on Instagram alongside the caption: “Very bad news for our team for the upcoming #Euro2016 yesterday evening 🙁 … but you’re a fighter, bro! get well soon!”
The defender was training with the Germany 23-man squad for the European Championships in France when the injury occurred.
Germany are facing a bit of a crisis in defence with Rudiger out and centre-back Mats Hummels not fully recovered from a leg muscle injury.
Ozil has enjoyed an impressive season winning the Arsenal player of the season award and proving the highest number of assists in the league (19).
The Arsenal star is one of two Germany intentional players of Turkish origin in the side – the other being Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
Germany go into the tournament as one of the bookmakers favourites and will take on Northern Ireland, Poland and Ukraine in their Euro 2016 group.
