Arsenal and Manchester United took to social media in force yesterday evening after Mesut Ozil set-up Bastian Schweinsteiger for Germany’s second goal against Ukraine.

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil started for Germany and provided an assist setting up Swinesteiger with the second goal to wrap up all three points. The victory was the first by a two-goal margin in the tournament so far.

Mesut Ozil maintained a passing accuracy of 88%, made 49 passes and created three chances.

German supporters questioned Low’s decision to select Schweinsteiger in his 23-man squad for the tournament but his decision appears to be vindicated.

Following the game we took to social media to see how fans reacted to this momentous occasion.

Ozil has enjoyed an impressive season winning the Arsenal player of the season award and proving the highest number of assists in the league (19).

The Arsenal star is one of two Germany intentional players of Turkish origin in the side – the other being Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
