Besiktas board member Ahmet Urkmezgil has confirmed that West Ham are interested in Gokhan Tore and gave the green light for the Turkish international winger to leave the club.
Speaking live on Radyospor Urkmezgil said: “Gokhan is a great player and we will only sell him for the right price. West Ham is an option and we will not rule out a transfer.”
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic also recently confirmed live on air that he wants to sign the explosive winger over the summer transfer window.
“Yes I want Gokhan Tore, will it happen? nobody can say yet but we want him,” Bilic said live on Turkish Super Lig broadcaster Lig Tv after the Croatia v Turkey game.
The East London based outfit have been involved in negotiations with the Istanbul giants over the transfer of Tore for the past month.
The Hammers reached an agreement with the 23-year-old last month a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com but had yet to agree a transfer fee with Besiktas.
The transfer is expected to go ahead once a mutually agreeable fee is reached between the two clubs.
Tore was dropped from the Turkey Euro 2016 squad due to being suspended for the opening two group games.
