Besiktas have rejected a €10 million offer from Lazio for Oguzhan Ozyakup according to club president Fikret Orman.
Lig Tv reported that Besiktas turned down a €10 million bid and Orman went one step further in his most recent press conference by calling Lazio a mid-table side that would not be able to sign Ozyakup.
“Ozyakup will not leave for a mid-table side like Lazio. He is a top level player who won the league title last season and will play Champions league football,” Orman stated.
The Besiktas president did however, confirm that if Ozyakup were to leave his next destination could be Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid.
“When Ozyakup leaves Besiktas it will be for Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid. A club of that calibre,” he added.
United have been linked with Ozyakup in the past and were reported to have sent scouts to keep tabs on the 23-year-old midfielder according to the Milliyet (via Eurosport).
Ozyakup does have Premier League experience having risen through the ranks of the Arsenal academy before his move to Besiktas in 2012.
The central midfielder went onto establish himself as a first team regular and played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title last season.
Ozyakup will not make a decision on his future until after Euro 2016 where he has started in both of Turkey’s Group D games.
