“The atmosphere at Anfield is going to be amazing as it always is,” Ba told Turkish-football.com reporters at his press conference at the Black Eagles Antalya training camp.

“I did my job against Liverpool last season, Gerrard was just unlucky, I did what I had to and hope to do the same this time around.”

Ba famously scored against Liverpool last season while playing for Chelsea. Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip against the Blues allowed Ba a free run on goal to give the London based side the lead the lead.

Chelsea won the game 2-0 delivering a hammer blow to the Reds title challenge.

The Senegalese international striker scored 50 goals during his stint in England. Ba played for West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea before joining the Black Eagles.

Ba joined Beşiktaş on a £5.2 million move from Chelsea last season.

The 29-year-old became the first Beşiktaş player to score seven UEFA competition goals in one season following his brace against Partizan.

Ba has 16 and two assists goals in 21 appearances for Beşiktaş in all competitions this season.

Beşiktaş qualified for the Europa League Round of 32 as Group C leaders, drawing against Tottenham in London and beating the Premier League outfit in Istanbul.
