The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is reported to be exploring the possibility of Borg representing Turkey at international level.
The young full-back joined West Ham from AFC Wimbledon aged 12 and has played for the Hammers youth sides ever since.
Manchester United were closely linked with Borg last season however, the young fullback decided to stay at West Ham and sign a professional contract with the London based club.
Borg has already drawn comparisons to Gareth Bale due to his style of play.
The 17-year-old would be able to play as a domestic player in the Süper Lig. Players with Turkish heritage or citizenship can play as Turkish nationals despite not being born in Turkey.
