France’s star striker Olivier Giroud will face up against his Arsenal teammate when Les Bleus host Germany in the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
The powerful striker told the Mirror that France will need to stop Ozil if they are to advance to the final where they will take on either Wales or Portugal.
“Our record against Germany is something we’re going to have to change because they’re a bit like our bogey side,” the Mirror quotes Ozil as saying.
“Ozil is a very talented player in terms of his passing and his vision for Arsenal and for Germany. He likes to drift between the lines so you have to keep an eye on him. We will have to stop him.”
Ozil was one of the stars of the show during Germany’s win over Italy in the quarters. The Arsenal playmaker scored Germany’s only goal against Italy in regulation time but when it was his turn to score in the penalty shoot out he missed. Ozil has now missed both his penalty efforts at Euro 2016 and four of his last five penalties for club and country.
Joachim Low’s side are unbeaten in Euro 2016 after recording a win over Northern Ireland, win over Ukraine and a scoreless draw with Poland. Germany side also defeated Slovakia 3-0 in the Last 16.
