The Slovakia international defender Martin Skrtel is set to complete his move to the Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce.
A source close to the Istanbul giants told Turkish-Football that the 31-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with Fenerbahce worth €3.5 million per season plus bonuses.
Srktel will become the third player to join Fenerbahce this summer after Roman Neustadter and PSG’s Gregory van der Wiel who joined last week.
The Istanbul giants have already parted ways with defenders Ba, Gokhan Gonul and Bruno Alves over the summer and have made strengthening their defence a priority.
Srktel joined Liverpool from Russian side Zenit for £7.5 million in 2007 and went onto make 320 appearances for the Reds. The experinced defender will join Denmark international Simon Kjaer at centre-back when he completes his move to the Yellow Canaries.
Fenerbahce will compete in the Champions League last season after finishing the leagues as runners-up.
