France international star Paul Pogba praised Mesut Ozil following the their 2-0 victory over Germany in the Euro 2016 semi-final clash in Marseille on Thursday.
Pogba shared an Instagram picture after the game consoling the Germany intentional and posted the following caption: “Gros exemple, top top joueur big example, top top player, always a pleasure to play against you, I learn a lot @m10_official #fiersdetrebleus #firstneverfollows.”
Pogba started for France and has played a key role in the hosts journey to the Euro 2016 final where they will take on Portugal.
Ozil also started for Germany but was unable to add to his assist or goal tally on the night for the reigning World Cup champions.
The 27-year-old wrapped up the tournament with one assist – against Ukraine in the group stage – and one goal – against Italy in the quarter-finals.
The Germany intentional of Turkish origin will enjoy a brief break before returning to pre-season training with Arsenal.
Ozil finished last season as the leading assist provider in the Premier League (19) and was name Arsenal player of the season.
