Galatasaray prepare €4m bid for Liverpool star midfielder

Cesc Fabregas

Galatasaray are preparing a €4 million bid for Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Turkish newspaper AMK reports that Galatasaray’s director of football Cenk Ergun will hold talks with Liverpool over the coming days.

Lucas has one year remaining on this contract with Liverpool which may lead to the Red’s cashing in on the Brazil international.

Galatasaray’s Istanbul rivals Besiktas have also been linked with Lucas Leiva according to the Mirror.

The report claims that the Lucas could be on the verge of an exit from Liverpool as part of head coach Jurgen Klopp’s overhaul of the squad

Besiktas almost signed Lucas on loan last summer but former manager Brendan Rodgers pulled out of the most at the last minute. The Turkish Super League champions are back in the market for a central midfielder in preparation for their Champions League campaign next season.

Lucas made 40 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season.
