Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has wished his former teammate Martin Skrtel all the best at Fenerbahce.
The Milliyet report that Markovic sent the following message: “My brother is at Fenerbahce, I wish Srktel all the best.”
Markovic knows all about Fenerbahce having spent last season on loan at the club. The Serbian international is now back at Liverpool after a season blighted by injuries.
The winger suffered four injuries and only recently returned to football after 140 days on the sidelines before picking up a hamstring strain during training for his national team.
The 21-year-old did manager to recover in time for the Turkish Cup final at the end of last season but then suffered another injury shortly after which has ruled him out of Euro 2016 for Serbia.
Skrtel arrived in Istanbul yesterday and passed his Fenerbahce medical today. The experienced defender is expected to sign to the Yellow Canaries.
The 31-year-old defender has become the third defensive player along with Gregory van der Wiel, Roman Neustaedter.
