The 1994 World Cup hero Claudio Taffarel is involved in negotiations to bring Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva to Galatasaray.
The Turkish newspaper Fanatik states that Galatasaray’s goalkeeping coach Taffarel will be present for talks between the club and Lucas. The Lion’s are hoping that the World Cup winner will be able to convince Lucas to make the more to Turkey.
Lucas has one year remaining on this contract with Liverpool which may lead to the Reds cashing in on the Brazil international. However, the report states that Galatasaray want to loan the 29-year-old.
Galatasaray will be unable to make any big money transfers this summer due to restrictions place on them by UEFA. The Lion’s Istanbul rivals Besiktas have also been linked with Leiva according to the Mirror.
The report claims that the Lucas could be on the verge of an exit from Liverpool as part of head coach Jurgen Klopp’s overhaul of the squad Lucas made 40 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season.
