West Ham summer transfer Gokhan Tore revealed that he has already settled into the club despite only joining a few weeks ago.
Tore stated that he feels welcome at the club and that he cannot wait to prove himself to the West Ham fans.
“I am really happy here and have already settled in,” Tore was quoted as saying by the Milliyet.
The 24-year-old midfielder also underlined that he wants to make his country proud and pave the way for more Turkish players to join Premier League sides.
Tore is one of two Turkish international players contracted to a Premier League club with the other being Enes Unal who joined Twente on a one-year loan today.
There are also now a total of four players of Turkish origin born in Germany in the Premier League – Mesut Ozil, Emre Can, Ilkay Gundogan and Tore.
“I want to be a good example to my country and give an opportunity for Turkish players of the future over here,” he added.
The also revealed that he is excited to be working with Slaven Bilic again. The West Ham boss coached Tore for two seasons during his time in charge of Besiktas.
Tore has been coached longer by Bilic than any other current West Ham player.
“It is great to be working with him again, I am excited and he has a special place for me,” he said.
“He knows what I want and I know what he expects,”
Tore made an appearance for the Hammers in today’s 3-0 win over Karlsruher.
