Besiktas President Fikret Orman has given the green light to sign Liverpool’s controversial striker Mario Balotelli.
According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, when asked about speculation linking the Italy international with a move to Besiktas Orman stated, “Balotelli, why not.”
The Black Eagles are in the market for a new striker after failing to secure Mario Gomez who spent last season at the club on loan.
Another report by Fanatik claims that Besiktas have requested that Balotelli considerers accepting a lower wage packet than the €5.5 per season he currently earns.
Besiktas would be more inclined to a loan move under their current financial situation. The Istanbul giants are under FFP investigation and must report revenues higher than spending.
Balotelli has been transfer listed by Liverpool and the Red’s have given the controversial striker the green light to leave over the summer.
Besiktas won the Turkish league title last season and will compete in the Champions League this season as a result.
