Arsenal recorded a 3-1 win over the Mexican league side Chivas in this mornings pre-season friendly.
The Gunners summer signing Rob Holding scored Arsenal’s opening goal in the 34th minute. Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chuba Akpom tripled Arsenal’s lead in the second-half ensure the Arsenal ended their US tour with a victory.
Chivas substitute Angel Zaldivar scored a consolation goal for the Mexican side at the StubHub Center.
The Mexican giants coached by Matias Almeyda are 110 years old and have won their domestic title 11 times.
Arsenal were however, without their star playmaker Mesut Ozil who is still on an extended leave after reaching the Euro 2016 semi-final with Germany. The Germany international of Turkish origin has yet to join the pre-season squad but is currently in the US.
Granit Xhaka who impressed against the MLS All-Stars last time out kept his place in the team. Xhaka played 45 minutes against the MLS All Stars on Friday and recorded a pass completion rate of 94.2 per cent in Arsenal’s 2-1 win.
