Trabzonspor’s Kevin Constant scored a ‘Panenka’ penalty to give Guinea the lead in their Group D clash against Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former AC Milan midfielder put his side 1-0 up before Mali went on to secure a 1-1 draw. The draw secures Guinea’s place in the next round of the tournaments. Guinea qualify to the next round with three draws from three games.

Trabzonspor midfielder Kevin Constant played the full 90 minutes for Guinea.

Constant has two goals in 18 appearances in all competitions this season for the Black Sea Storm.

The 27-year-old’s inclusion comes as a surprise due to his strained relationship with the Guinea football association.

Constant quit the national side in October, citing “difficult relations” with his team-mates.

However, manager Michel Dussuyer decided to bring the former AC Milan player back into the squad.

Constant has four goals in 28 international appearances for Guinea.
