Monaco have banned Pokemon Go from being played at the II. Luis stadium ahead of the UEFA Champions League encounter against Fenerbahce.
The Ligue 1 club have put up posters around the stadium which read, “Pokemon Go hunting is prohibited inside the II. Luis stadium.”
Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game on smartphones which has millions of people worldwide obsessively capturing small virtual creatures in public spaces.
The reason behind Monaco’s ban of the game is unknown but there are posters such as these around the stadium and surrounding area.
It does raise the question, would you do if you found a Charizard in the stadium?
How Monaco plan to enforce the ban remains a mystery as well. In addition to Pokemon, Fenerbahce fans are also banned from attended the game.
Fenerbahce go into the return leg against Monaco needing just a draw to progress to the next round of the Champions League qualifiers after beating the French giants 2-1 in Istanbul last week.
