Arsene Wenger gives all clear for defender to join European giants

Galatasaray - Türk Telekom Arena

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given Mathieu Debuchy the green light to join Galatasaray on a one-year loan deal according to Turkish media agency DHA.

A source close to Galatasaray told Turkish-football.com that head coach Jan Rierkerink has urged the board to strengthen the full-back position after a string of poor performances from his current defensive unit over the pre-season. The Istanbul giants conceded five goals against Manchester United last Saturday.

Gunners full-back Debuchy has been identified as being top of the Lions current shortlist for summer reinforcements in the full-back area.

Galatasaray have now entered personal talks with Debuchy after agreeing terms with his club.

Turkish football journalist Gökmen Özdemir with close links to the club also shared a tweet claiming Galatasaray have already reached a deal with the North London based outfit over the loan transfer.
