Arsenal look set to miss out on yet another transfer target this summer after Oguzhan Ozyakup expressed a desire to remain at Besiktas.
The Gunners were linked with a move for their former midfielder by the Daily Star earlier this week. However, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet state that Ozyakup has no intention of leaving the Black Eagles this summer.
“There have been offers but I do not want to leave this season, I want to stay with Besiktas and play Champions League football,” Ozyakup was quoted as saying by Milliyet.
Ozyakup joined the Eagles from Arsenal in 2012 in pursuit of first-team football and has gone onto become one of the most sought after players in the league.
Ozyakup has two-years remaining on his contract and the fear Besiktas have is if the Turkish international midfielder decides to run down his contract. The 23-year-old midfielder played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title last season scoring 10 times and providing eight assists.
