The Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray have turned their attention towards Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger after failing to land Lucas Leiva from Liverpool according to the Express.
Galatasaray looked set to sign Lucas from Liverpool after reaching an agreement however, the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp put a stop to the move due to injuries within his squad.
The Turkish newspaper AMK state that a deal has been put on hold for two weeks and that Galatasaray are beginning to lose patience.
The report goes onto say that if the deal for Lucas is not completed over the coming days, the Istanbul giants will switch their attention to Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger has been omitted from United’s squad by manager Jose Mourinho however, Galatasaray will struggle to match his £275,000-a-week wages.
The Germany international managed just 13 Premier League starts for Man Utd last season and was plagued with knee injuries.
