West Ham have joined to race to sign Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.
The newspaper which has close ties to Hammers boss Slaven Bilic from his time coaching Besiktas claims that the East London based outfit are set to rival a bid for Debuchy who is reported to be nearing a deal with Galatasaray.
The Hammers are reported to be in the transfer market looking for a new full-back and have targeted Debuchy to strengthen the back-line.
However, according to the French language version of Goal, Arsenal have already accepted Galatasaray’s loan bid for Debuchy.
The reports from France follow Galatasaray sporting director Levent Nazifoglu confirming the transfer link.
“Mathieu Debuchy was offered to Galatasaray through his agent on a loan deal,” Nazifoglu was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.com.
Debuchy does have another three years remaining on his Arsenal contract but he has made just 22 appearances since joining from Newcastle United on a £12.75 million move in 2014.
The 31-year-old has two goals in 27 caps for France since making his international debut back in 2011 but was ruled out of Euro 2016 with a hamstring injury.
