Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed that Oguzhan Ozyakup will be staying at the club next season despite offers from aboard.
Orman did however state that Ozyakup may be allowed to leave next season after achieving his goals at Besiktas.
Speaking at Adriano’s signing ceremony Orman said: “Ozyakup was come a long way in four years, he is our stay player and will stay this season and experience Champions League football as a star player.
“It has been a great pleasure to see him develop and he will be here this season but once his mission at Besiktas is complete he can decide his future.
“I would love him to stay here until he retires but we will discuss his future next season.”
Turkish-football.com reported earlier today that Ozyakup will not be sold this summer as Besiktas have already loaned out Gokhan Tore to West Ham and on-loan striker Mario Gomez has confirmed he will not be returning to Turkey.
Ozyakup has been closely linked with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund but the Daily Star report that Manchester United are prepared to offer £20 million for the midfielder.
The 23-year-old played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title last season scoring 10 times and providing eight assists.
United kept tabs on Ozyakup over the course of the season and it is worth pointing out that Orman revealed that if his star man were to leave he would want his destination to be Old Trafford.
“When Ozyakup leaves Besiktas it will be for Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid. A club of that calibre,” Orman was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.com.
Ozyakup first made a name for himself at the Arsenal reserves and played a major role in the Under-18 side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009 before making a few appearances in cup competitions.
The Turkish international midfielder left Arsenal in pursuit of first team football and joined Besiktas in 2012 where he has gone onto establish himself as a star player.
