Liverpool must lower asking price to sell 10-goal striker says agent

Liverpool must consider lowering their valuation of Christian Benteke if they hope to sell him as planned this summer his agent Eris Kismet revealed.

Speaking to Turkish-football.com, the agent stated the Reds asking price is making it difficult for the clubs interested to sign the striker.

“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet said.

“Liverpool would probably have to reduce their asking price if a transfer is to go ahead.”

The Reds have already turned down a £25m bid from Crystal Palace according to the Daily Mail but have not budged on their asking fee.

The Echo report that the Premier League giants want £32.5 million for the powerful striker.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman confirmed yesterday that he has been in talks with Liverpool over Benteke.

“Benteke is a great player but he has a very high market valuation,” Orman said.

“I want Benteke but Liverpool want a lot for him, it won’t be an easy transfer but we will see.”

The Istanbul giants want the Belgium intentional on loan but a source close to the club revealed that the Reds want to sell Benteke and that a temporary move is currently unlikely.

Besiktas would be unable to match Benteke’s asking price due to FFP commitments but the club are trying to convince the Reds into letting him leave on loan and rediscover his form which would in turn make him easier to sell for £32.5 million next season.
