Liverpool have told Besiktas that they will consider a loan offer for Christian Benteke after 26 August if their valuation if not met according to Futbol Arena.

The Reds currently want to sell Benteke but will not accept offers below their £32 million asking price.

Per the source, if Liverpool’s valuation is not met they will consider offloading the Belgium international to Besiktas on a temporary move where he will be almost guaranteed first-team and Champions League football this season.

Liverpool want to sell Benteke but if they do not receive their asking price they would rather he joins a club on loan than stay at Anfield this season.

Benteke’s agent Eris Kismet meanwhile told Turkish-football.com, that the Reds asking price is making it difficult for the clubs interested to sign the striker.

“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet said.

“Liverpool would probably have to reduce their asking price if a transfer is to go ahead.”

Crystal Palace are however, reported to be in talks with Liverpool over the transfer of Benteke again after having a £25 million bid only recently turned down according to Sky Sports.

Besiktas do have an impressive track record of turning round the careers of strikers. Demba Ba and Mario Gomez rediscovered their goalscoring boots in Turkey over the past two season.

Gomez’s career was on a downward spiral until his loan move to Besiktas last season where he finished the league campaign as top scorer, won the Super Lig title and earned himself a recall to the Germany national team squad scoring twice at Euro 2016 this summer.
