Juan Mata reacted furiously when substituted by Jose Mourinho in the 27th minute of the Community Shield clash against Leicester City.
The Spain international looked bemused after coming off midway though the first half fuelling speculation that his days were numbered at Old Trafford. According to the BBC, Juan Mata was taken off during United’s Community Shield win ‘because he was the smallest player.’
However, SkySports reports that Mata is likely to remain at Manchester United beyond the current transfer window.
The Express recently report that United value Mata as being worth £20 and fellow Premier League outfit Everton as well as Fenerbahce are understood to be interested in acquiring his services over the summer.
Mata’s future is in doubt and he does not exactly have the best of relations with head coach Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician openly stated that Mata did not fit into his style of play and sold him to United for £37 million back in 2014.
