Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken about the future of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the club.
The duo have two years remaining on their contract with the Gunners and neither are close to penning a new deal.
However, Wenger has assured Arsenal supporters there is no reason to worry regarding the star duo. The French tactician insisted that he believes both players with sign contract extensions with the club.
“There is no reason for fans to be concerned,” Wenger was quoted as saying by Goal.
“We are making progress, but it’s a long process.
“They still have two years on their contract. The transfer market is maybe more of a priority now. Contract renewals usually take place outside the transfer window.
“But I still think they will agree terms.”
Arsenal take on Liverpool in their opening game of the season at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Ozil is the favourite to once again be the Premier Leagues assist king. According to the Evening Standard, the bookmakers have set Ozil’s odds to be crowned assist king at 2/1. The 27-year-old recorded an incredible 19 assists for the Gunners last season, just one off matching Thierry Henry’s record of 20.
