Bastian Schweinsteiger was left out of Manchester United’s match day team going into their opening Premier League game of the season against Bournemouth which the Red Devils ended up winning 3-1.

Despite praising his teammates after the game the experienced midfielder looks unlikely to get a look in this season after Jose Mourinho relegated him to the reserve side.

The 32-year-old was not used over the pre-season period and Mourinho reportedly has no plans for the former World Cup winner.

Schweinsteiger does however, have another two-years remaining on his current deal worth £14 million according to the Sun.

The experienced midfielder reportedly wants what he is owed and if he does not leave United could end up with a costly reserve player.

Galatasaray sporting director Levent Nazifoglu revealed that the club will seek alternatives following the breakdown of Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva’s transfer and Schweinsteiger has been named on the Lions shortlist.

“We are no longer pursuing Lucas Leiva, we will continue efforts to sign alternative names instead,” Nazifoglu was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.com.

AMK revealed that the Istanbul giants want Schweinsteiger on a loan move and are willing to pay up to £3 million toward his annual salary.
