Slaven Bilic is set to coach Gokhan Tore for the first time in a competitive game if he decided to play the Turkish intentional against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today.
Bilic managed Tore for two seasons – longer than any current West Ham player – during his time in charge of Besiktas.
Tore established himself as one of the most highly rated players in the league under the stewardship of Bilic who instantly clicked with the explosive winger.
The 24-year-old is currently on a one-year loan at West Ham from Besiktas but the club have a £10 million buyout clause.
Tore is already well adapted to Bilic’s tactics and playing style but faces a races against time for match fitness after only recently recovering from a knee injury that ruled him out of the Europa League games against Domzale.
