West Ham were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their first Premier League game of the season.
Summer signing Gokhan Tore made his debut against Chelsea after being brought on for the injured Andre Ayew on 34 minutes.
Tore went onto have a pretty unmemorable debut against his former team which he played for as a youth between 2009-11.
The 24-year-old came into the game having only recently recovered from a knee injury and playing just a few minutes of pre-season football since joining the Hammers.
Tore looked jaded and struggled to keep up to pace. The Turkish international only achieved a 75 percent pass accuracy and failed to use his explosive acceleration or technical ability to dribble past a single Blues player.
The Super Lig champion rarely lost the ball and was not dispossessed once but he was not able to offer West Ham the attacking threat they were looking for.
Tore’s display did not go down well with West Ham fans who evidently expected a lot more.
