Arsenal face competition for £30m striker target as Besiktas president flies to England for talks

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has travelled to England to hold talks with Manchester City over the transfer of Wilfied Bony according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

Per the source, the Black Eagles want the Ivory Coast international on a one-year loan and would be prepared to cover part of his wages.

City have instructed Bony to find himself a new club according to the Daily Mail and his representatives have been working on an exit route for the striker.

Everton are currently the bookmakers favourites to land Bony at odds of 1.91 but Arsenal are reported to considering a £30 million bid according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners are running out of time to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window and could be tempted into signing Bony.

A source close to Besiktas told Turkish-football.com that the Black Eagles have Bony on their striker shortlist along with Liverpool striker Christian Benteke and Chelsea’s Loic Remy.

The Istanbul giants want a replacement for Mario Gomez going into the Champions League group stages.

The Germany international was top scorer for the Eagles last season and played an important role in winning the league title.
