Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has not exactly hit the ground running at Old Trafford and has been instructed to find a new club by Jose Mourinho.

The former World Cup winner has been banished to train with the reserves and was left out of United’s first game of the season against Bournemouth.

The writing is on the wall for the experienced midfielder but he has no shortage of suitors.

Galatasaray are among the clubs interested in recruiting the 32-year-old as they continue efforts to sign a new central midfielder.

AMK revealed that the Istanbul giants want Schweinsteiger on a loan move and are willing to pay up to £3 million toward his annual salary.

Schweinsteiger does however, have another two-years remaining on his current deal worth £14 million according to the Sun making the Lions offer a more attractive option than paying him to play in the reserves.

Galatasaray sporting director Levent Nazifoglu revealed that the Lions are seeking alternatives after their move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva hit the rocks.

Nazifoglu revealed that while the club is interested in Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel he is not their first choice.

This resulted in rumours in the Turkish press that the Istanbul giants are back in the race for Schweinsteiger who has been linked with the club over the transfer window.

“Mikel is a quality player and we have been interested but he is not our priority either, we have other players that are being targeted,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.
