Besiktas were reported to have reached an agreement-in-principle with Liverpool over the loan transfer of Christian Benteke according to Turkish Super Lig broadcaster Lig Tv on Wednesday.
Per the source, Besiktas president Fikret Orman has been in England holding talks with Liverpool.
The Reds are reported to be open to the loan on the condition that their £32 million asking price is not reached.
Besiktas would still have to agree personal terms with Benteke if the deal were to go ahead.
The Belgium international’s agent told Turkish-football.com that his client has not agreed terms with Besiktas.
When asked if an agreement has been reached between Besiktas and Benteke the agent responded: “Not at all. There is no nothing to report on with Besiktas yet.”
The agent did however, state that interested clubs are struggling to match his asking price.
“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet said.
Liverpool have yet to receive an offer that matches their valuation and the Liverpool Echo report that the club has already had to turn down two offers from Crystal Palace who remain interested.
The report claims that Palace actually only bid £23.5 million upfront and the remaining £7 million was promised at a later date depending on achieving a series of targets.
Besiktas need a replacement for Mario Gomez who was last seasons top scorer and played a key role in winning the league title.
Gomez also joined on a loan deal last season and turned his career around, getting himself back in the Germany national team and earning a high profile move to Wolfsburg.
