Liverpool could recoup £68.64m if flop striker completes move to Crystal Palace

Liverpool have accepted an offer from Crystal Palace worth £32 million – including ad ons – for out-of-favour striker Christian Benteke according to Sky Sports.

Per the source, Palace are prepared to pay an initial £27m plus £5m in add-ons. The Belgium international will arrive in London to undergo a medical and will negotiate personal terms with the Eagles.

Should the deal end up being completed before the end of the transfer window Liverpool would have netted themselves £68.64 million – assuming they receive £32m for Benteke.

Transfermarkt have the Reds down as currently having earned £36.64 million from transfer this summer including £5.1 million from Fenerbahce for Martin Skrtel, £15.3m from Bournemouth for Jordan Ibe and £3.06m for Brad Smith and £13.18m from Stoke City for Joe Allen.

Skrtel has started all three games for the Yellow Canaries this season recording his first clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Grasshoppers on Thursday in the Europa League.

Benteke was also in talks with Turkish champions Besiktas before striking a deal with Palace – but the Black Eagles wanted him on loan.
