Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny may make an early return for the Gunners this weekend to take on last seasons Premeir League champions Leaicester City.
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is considering bringing Ozil and Koscielny back ahead of schedule. The French tactician went onto say that in the case of Koscielny, he has no option but to bring him back into the squad.
“Yes, I will consider them for selection this weekend,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.
“Of course they have not played any games for a while, so I have to be selective and I cannot go for the three because that would be too risky. But basically with Laurent Koscielny I have no choice!”
Ozil was left out of the squad for Arsenal’s opening game of the season with Liverpool where they were defeated by a 4-3 scoreline.
The 27-year-old has been given an extended rest after participating in Euro 2016 earlier this summer. Aaron Ramsey who also played in the semi-finals was fielded against Liverpool but was forced off after 60 minutes due to an injury.
