Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Omer Toprak according to 90min.
Per the source, the Bundesliga giants are keen on bringing in Toprak who has been a long term target.
Dortmund were alerted to Toprak’s availability after he hinted that he would be open to a summer move.
The Turkey international was quoted by Turkish-Football.com as saying: “It is not certain whether I will stay at Bayer Leverkusen, we still have a month and anything could happen until them.”
The Daily Star meanwhile report that Arsenal are also targeting a move for Toprak, stating that Arsene Wenger is keen on the Turkish international.
The Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi remains Arsenal’s primary target however, the North London based outfit have been unable to strike a deal with the La Liga giants and are running out of time for defensive reinforcements.
The Gunners have also been linked with Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer although a source close to the club told Turkish-football that the Denmark international is not for sale this season.
Toprak would become the fifth Germany born Turk in the Premier League were he to make the move joining Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, West Ham loanee Gokhan Tore and Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
