West Ham have been made the bookmakers favourites to sign out of favour Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony.

Skybet have slashed the Hammers odds from outsiders down to clear favourites at odds of 1.4.

The East London based outfit have launched a move for the Ivory Coast striker according to Sky Sports as Slaven Bilic’s injury crisis mounts up.

Bilic is without record summer signing Andew Ayew for four months following a shoulder injury and Andy Carroll is also on the sidelines.

The Croatian manager has revealed that he is fond of Bony but did not confirm making an offer.

“Injuries? Transfers? We will try to get one in and the chairmen will be very generous if we can,” he said after the Bournemouth speaking to Sky Sports cameras.

“Bony is a good player – but we will speak on Monday. If we get one it’s got to be a good one. But if not I have the squad that will fight for West Ham big time.”

The Hammers could however, face competition from Arsenal who despite priced at 9.00 to sign Bony are being linked with a £30 million move according to the Daily Star.

Besiktas are also in the race after club president travelled to England to hold talks with Manchester City over loan deals for Samir Nasri and Bony a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com.

All three clubs are in need of a striker this summer but time is running out with just over a week left before the window closes.

Bony has been instructed to find a new club after being dropped for all of City’s first three games of the season but he does have another three-years left on his contract.
