Liverpool take on Burton in the League Cup tonight and Jurgen Klopp as decided to give Emre Can his first start of the season.

Can missed the 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor due to a minor back injury and this will be the first game but he has since recovered and Klopp is keen on his star man gaining match fitness going into the important weekend clash against Tottenham at White Hart lane.

The Germany international of Turkish origin was expected to be rested against Burton but Klopp has decided to give him the nod.

The Reds have lost none of their last 12 League Cup games against lower-ranked opponents (W8 D4) and will be hoping to maintain their record with this lineup.

Klopp has also given captain Jordan Henderson, Firmino, Mane, Lallana and Origi a starting spot.

Klopp will however, be without Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva and Sheyi Ojo.
