Tottenham are lining up Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu as a replacement for the out-bound Son Heung-min.
According to the Mirror, The Korean international wants to return to Germany after failing to settle in at White Hart Lane.
Per-the-source, Spurs are keen to sign Calhanoglu as manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to boost his attacking options in midfield.
When asked about interest from Tottenaham, Calhanoglu’s representative Bektas Demirtas told German publication Express: “It is true that Tottenham have registered their interest with me.”
Meanwhile, the German outlet Bild state that Bayer Leverkusen want £21.4 million for the Turkish intentional.
Calhanoglu has another three-years remaining on his contract and the German giants are prepared to hold off accepting a deal until their valuation is met.
However, Spurs are not alone in their pursuit of Calhanoglu as TalkSport report that North London rivals Arsenal are keen on the attacking midfielder.
Calhanoglu joined Bayer Leverkusen for €14.5m in 2014. The Turkey international has gone onto made a name for himself as one of the most feared free-kick specialists in European football scoring 11 direct set-piece goals in the Bundesliga.
