Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come under fire from sections of the Gunners fanbase due to a lack of silverware over recent years.
The North London based outfit have not lifted the Premier League trophy for over a decade and have yet to win a major European competition under the management of Wenger.
The French head coach has however, managed to finish in the top four for the past 16 seasons and guarantee consistent Champions League football. Arsenal have been doing well financially and are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world but footballing success is measured in silverware not profits.
Wenger earns £8.9 million per-season putting him above the likes of Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane – all of whom have won either league or European trophies in the last five years.
Turkish international star Arda Turan has worked under two of the top 10 highest paid managers in world football. The 29-year-old won every domestic title under Simeone as well as the Europa League and European Super Cup. The bearded winger has also won every domestic title under the stewardship of Enrique.
Only one manager in the top 10 list have not won a league title, Zidane who is 10th – although he did lift the Champions League trophy and European Super Cup in his first season in charge of Real.
