Gokhan Tore and Hakan Calhanoglu look like they have patched up their difference following a gun feud that almost ripped the Turkish national team apart.
Tore had allegedly been stewing over Omer Toprak’s friend making advances toward his girlfriend.
Accompanied by a sidekick, Tore allegedly gained access to Toprak and Calhanoglu’s hotel room after the pair had returned there after national team duty in 2013.
“Then the real story began,” Calhanoglu explained in an interview with the German TV channel ZDF.
“Gokhan’s friend walked over to Omer, pulled out a gun from his jacket and told him he would be shot if he didn’t lay flat on the floor.
“I was lying in a corner. He then came up to me and said: ‘Don’t move or I will shoot you’. I was curled up in the corner of the room, I couldn’t move, I was scared for my life.”
It looks like Tore and Calhanoglu have settled their difference as fellow Turkish national teammate Mevlut Erdinc shared a picture on his Instagram posing alongside the two players.
Tore is currently on loan at West Ham from Turkish champions Besiktas and has one assist in all competitions this season.
Calhanoglu meanwhile plays for Bayer Leverkusen alongside Toprak – who has yet to start posing in Instagram snaps with Tore.
Toprak meanwhile also plays for Bayer but has yet to feature in the national team setup following the controversial incident.
