Manchester United were given a double boost when Jose Mourinho confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw had both been made available ahead of the Liverpool clash over the weekend on the official club website.
Shaw was ruled out of England’s recent World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Malta but he has been working on his fitness over the past fortnight and is ready to make his return to first team football.
Mkhitaryan has also been declared fit after recovering from a thigh injury that has hampered him over the last two months.
In other Man United team news the rest of the team is fit and there were no new injuries over the international break. Phil Jones remains the only player out as he continues to nurse a knee ligament injury.
Unless United suffer a serious injury blow over the course of the Liverpool game Mourinho will have a full strength side – other than Jones – to pick from going into the Fenerbahce clash.
United host Fenerbahce at Old Trafford on Thursday 20 October in the third of their Europa League group stage games. The Yellow Canaries are currently first in the group on four points while the Red Devils are tied with Feyenoord on three points and Zorya are last on one point.
