Lukas Podolski knows Mesut Ozil well after spending years playing alongside the Arsenal star with the Germany national team.
Podolski also happened to be a former Arsenal player but he now plies his trade in Turkey at Galatasaray to be precise.
The Germany international has been busy immersing himself in the local culture and picking up the Turkish language – which Ozil speaks fluently being an ethnic Turk himself.
Ozil turned 28 last week and was sent a video compilation from players across Europe wishing him a happy birthday. Podolski also sent a message. It started off well with Podolski called Ozil, ‘Mesut abi’. The term ‘abi’ means older brother when translated to English but it can also be used as a title of respect. What happened next was pretty shocking.
The former Arsenal man swore in his video using a term which translates to something along the lines of, ‘stick it in your female private parts’. The term can be used as a joke when talking slang and can be a connective phrase.
It all depends on the context but in Podolski’s case considering he is close friends with Ozil we assume he was just trying to show how down he is with the local lingo that he can even talk in slang.
