Below are our Man City player ratings
Caballero – 8
Excellent display filling in for the suspended Bravo. Commanding presence dealing with aerial balls and important saves.
Stones – 7.5
Much improved display compared to the last time he faced Barcelona. Made important blocks and kept Luis Suarez quiet.
Otamendi – 6
Shaky first half display but got his act together in the second half and dominated in the air.
Zabaleta – 7.5
Rarely put a foot wrong defensively and riled up the home support helping create a hostile atmosphere against Barcelona.
Kolarov – 7.5
Hard working defensive display and contributed to attacking moves when he got forward.
Fernandinho – 7
Assiduous midfield performance until he was forced off injured on the hour mark.
Sterling – 7.5
Unlucky to not have won a penalty early on – for which he was shown a yellow card for diving. Sterling was a menace going forward and tracked back well as well.
De Bruyne – 7.5
Took a while to get going but once he did Barcelona struggled to cope and his free-kick was out of this world!
David Silva – 7
Caused the Barcelona defence problems with his creativity and vision when in possession of the ball. Was the architect behind quite a few City counter-attacks.
Ilkay Gundogan – 9.5
His finest performance in a City shirt. Gundogan scored a brace – for the second game running – and played an instrumental role in the Citizens beating Barcelona.
Aguero – 7.5
Provided an assist for the third goal – although the replays showed the ball hit his hands. Aguero’s hold up play was brilliant and the Barca defence struggled to cope with his movement.
