Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie filled the back pages in Turkey this morning following his brace against the Yellow Canaries bitter rivals Galatasaray.
The Netherlands international has endured a rocky 12 months in Istanbul since joining from Manchester United last season however, yesterdays goals will have cemented Van Persie’s place as a firm fan favourite.
Van Persie put Fener ahead shortly before the break and doubled his sides lead midway though the second half from the penalty spot.
The 33-year-old has now provided two assists and scored seven goals for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season.
