Arsenal have suffered a blow in their quest to sign the Germany international forward Julian Draxler, according to Goal.
Per-the-source, the Germany international will not be allowed to leave the Bundesliga club over the upcomming transfer window.
Meanwhile, the Mirror states that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old German star.
However, the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted that Wolfsburg have no intention of selling Draxler in January.
“It is wrong to think we are looking to sell him. We are not planning to sell anyone,” Wolfsburg sporting director Allofs told WAZ (via Goal).
“The most important thing is that the impression that Julian wants out disappears. He wants to do everything within his powers to be successful at Wolfsburg.
“There is absolutely no reason to even talk about Julian leaving in January.
“I am convinced Julian will not repeat his comments from last summer.”
The 23-year-old joined Wolfsburg from rivals Schalke 04 for £25 million back in 2015. The former Schalke 04 star scored nine goals in 34 games appearances for Wolfsburg last season.
However, Draxler has failed to register a single assist of goal for the Bundesliga giants this season.
