Galatasaray made bids for Joel Campbell & Alex Song says Prandelli [divider]
Galatasaray manager Cesare Prandelli revealed that offers were made for Pato, Ibarbo, Doria, Balanta, Marcelo, Douglas, Campbell and Song over the summer.
“When I took over we were in talks with Pato, Ibarbo, Doria, Balanta, Marcelo, Douglas, Campbell and Song,” Prandelli said.
“Unfortunately none of these transfers materialised.”
Galatasaray have been keeping tabs on Campbell for the past two-seasons and were close to agreeing a deal with the Costa Rican international this summer.
Campbell has made just two Premier League appearances this season despite Arsenal facing a mounting injury crisis.
The 22-year-old has already had three loan spells since joining Arsenal but Wenger decided to keep him at in London this season after a series of good performances for Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup.
The Lions were also reported to have made a bid for on loan West Ham midfielder Alex Song but the deal also fell through.
Galatasaray are currently third in the Süper Lig just one point behind league leaders Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe.
