Wesley Sneijder’s agent Guido Albers has hinted that his client may return to the Serie A in January.
According to an article in the Daily Express, Albers stated “Galatasaray are having difficulties paying wages. Sneijder is very keen on a return to Italy.”
However, Juventus have distanced themselves from the playmaker stating that they are not interested in signing Sneijder.
The news leaves United free to sign the 30-year-old, who has a release clause of £16m.
The former Inter star has years of experience playing Serie A football but has underlined on a number of occasions this season that he is happy at Galatasaray.
The 30-year-old playmaker has also been closely linked with FC Tokyo and Toronto FC.
Sneijder is currently with the Netherlands national team on international break. The Dutch national team recently lost 3-2 against Mexico in an international friendly.
Sneijder has scored three goals in 12 games for Galatasaray this season.
