Galatasaray defender Jason Denayer has managed to break into the first team having started in the Lions last two consecutive games and has had no trouble settling into life in Turkey.
In fact he has already developed a taste for one of the most popular drinks in the country; tea or çay (chai) as the locals call it.
Denayer shared an Instagram post having a traditional ‘cuppa’ alongside the caption: “çay… #do#you#think#there#is#better?#i#dont#think#so.”
The drink has become increasingly popular among the leagues foreign players with the likes of Fernando Muslera, Wesley Sneijder and Luis Nani famously posing with the unmistakable çay glass but the ultimate Turkish tea connoisseur is without a doubt Galatasaray striker Lukas Podolski.
The World Cup winner went as far as having a çay at his signing ceremony and we have lost count of the number of times he has taken a picture drinking sweet black tea.
Podolski is not alone in the Germany national team cam. Teammate of Turkish origin Mesut Özil is also regularly pictured with a glass of tea.
Turkish tea is traditionally grown on the eastern Black Sea coast of the country and is drank without milk in an unmistakable glass – often compared to the ‘ideal’ female form.
